PROGRAMS & SERVICES
All of the services at Wernick are delivered by a caring team of
professionals, specifically trained in the areas of geriatric nursing,
rehabilitation, and social and recreational services. This team works
closely with families to safely and effectively manage participants'
health conditions, and in many instances, prevent or postpone the need
for more acute care. In addition, our program caters specifically to
the individual needs of those with chronic health conditions and
medical/physical limitation, including Alzheimer's disease or other
related memory impairments.
Services provided at Wernick include:
- Skilled nursing services
- Personal care
- Recreational programs that encourage social interaction
- Nutritious meals and snacks
- Transportation
In addition, because Wernick is part of the Jewish Geriatric Services system of care, our participants have access to many additional services, including:
- Access to physician and nurse practitioners
- Restorative/rehabilitation therapy
- Telemedicine - a health monitoring system that records participants' vital signs and electronically transmits them to a nurse a Spectrum Home Health Care, another program of Jewish Geriatric Services, for review and follow-up if needed
- Professional case managers who can evaluate a participant's condition and if necessary, assist with recommendations on how to best meet their evolving care needs
